Women’s Safety & Self-Defense Soy Candle Workshop

Just in time for Mother’s Day – Spend your afternoon creating something beautiful and learning something powerful with the special women in your life.

Join Corina from ShePaintsCo and Montana, owner and instructor of The Ganster Karate System, for a creative and empowering afternoon.

Create and customize your own small-batch soy candle while blending a signature scent from high-quality, phthalate-free, carcinogen-free, and paraben-free fragrance oils. In addition to candle making, Montana will lead a meaningful conversation on women’s safety, awareness, and confidence. Participants will be introduced to a few simple, practical self-defense techniques — offering a preview of what a women’s self-defense class experience looks like. Perfect for moms and daughters to attend together, girlfriends, or any woman looking to feel more prepared and empowered.

Blend your custom scent from an assortment of high quality, phthalate free, carcinogen free, and paraben free oils. Decorate your soy candle and 4 tealights with an assortment of biodegradable glitters, crystal chips, and soy wax embeds. You will be guided through the process step by step, no experience needed. All tools are provided for your soy candle making experience.

A wax melter is provided to pre-melt the soy wax by Corina, which is then poured into your own pour pitcher by you, to blend with choice fragrance oils. You will make one amber jar candle and 4 tea lights using 9 oz of soy wax. Your 1 wick amber jar soy candle burns up to 44 hours. Tealights hold .6 oz of wax and burn up to 6 hours.

Trade tealights you create with others in the group to leave with a variety of scents infused with each others creative expression.

Candles for a Cause: Reading Room Edition

Join us at Queens’ Cafe for a fundraising soy candle making workshop Saturday, April 18th, 1-3 PM.

Owner Sabrena Elmarzouky of Queens’ Cafe will be a Celebrity Bartender for Reading Public Libraries Fundraiser on Wednesday, May 20th from 5-8 PM at Saucony Creek Franklin Station Brewpub. $20 per workshop seat will be donated to her fundraising goal for this local event supporting the Reading Public Library.
