Soy Candle Making Experience inside the Speckled Hen at Judy’s on Cherry

Join Corina from ShePaintsCo Friday, July 24th, for our first hands-on soy candle making workshop inside the newly reopened Speckled Hen!!! Enjoy a private, unique experience crafting and connecting inside the oldest building in the city!!! Focaccia will be served to snack on and we encourage you to grab a bite while you’re here. We will have a server on the table to keep the drinks flowing. Judy’s opens at 5. We start at 6. Feel free to stay after and head upstairs and check out the space/bar area for a night cap after.
You will learn the process of making your own small batch soy candles in a fun, supportive environment. Make one amber jar candle and 4 tealights using 9 oz of locally sourced soy wax. Your 1 wick amber jar soy candle will burn for a total of 44 hours. Tealights burn up to 6 hours.
You will be guided through the candle making process step by step, no experience needed. This workshop is for anyone 21 and up. This event includes all tools needed for your candle making experience. A wax melter is provided to pre-melt the soy wax, which is then poured into your own pour pitcher to blend with choice fragrance oils. Individual tea lights hold .6 oz of wax and burn up to 5 hours each. Trade tealights you create with others in the group to leave with a variety of scents infused with each others creative expression.
Personalize your signature scent from an assortment of over 20 seasonally rotated, high quality, phthalate free oils. Every oil used is vegan, cruelty-free, and formulated without phthalates and ingredients found on California’s Proposition 65 list. The oils used in ShePaintsCo candles have no known or suspected carcinogens, mutagens, reproductive toxins, organ toxins, or acute toxins.
Decorate your soy candle and tealights from an array of biodegradable glitters, crystal chips, and handmade soy wax embeds. Decorate your 4 tealights while your main candle cools. Festive sticker decals will be available for you to decorate your jar with too!
